partner - married couple, de-facto relationship & same sex partner.
prospective spouse - where an Australian permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen sponsors his or her potential spouse to enter Australia so that they can be married.
parent - parents of Australian permanent residents and citizens can be sponsored for Australian permanent or temporary visas if the children can prove that more than half of them are Australian citizens or permanent residents.
carer – under special circumstances, Australian citizens or permanent residents can sponsor relatives to enter Australia and care for them.
child/orphan relative – this visa allows for Australian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their dependant and orphan relatives.
remaining relative – this visa allows for a family member to sponsor the last remaining relative.
all work visas are for certain occupations which are difficult to be filled from local labour.
permanent visas:
employer sponsored (ENS)
regional sponsored migration scheme (RSMS) - this has the advantage of the visa application receiving faster processing time than the ENS because it is certified by the state.
temporary visa:
457 - this visa provides a pathway for one of the permanent work visas after having worked for the same employer for a certain period of time.
primary or secondary school
education and vocational training - certificate, diploma, advanced diploma
higher education - degree level
guardian for child under 18
family sponsored - the visa applicant is sponsored by a relative who is a permanent resident or citizen of Australia to visit him/her or the family.
